WHAT DO WE DO?

Since 2017, STEM Catalyst has led the effort to promote and advocate for STEM Literacy in culturally and linguistically diverse communities by offering free STEM-based activities to nearly 5000+ community members from low socio-economic backgrounds. We have been role models at the forefront of migrant communities to support the nation’s education plan and balance gender equity and social justice therein.

Testimonials:

STEM Catalyst has been a pleasure to work with and exemplary in organising fun and interesting citizen science excursions for our CALD women's community group. On each occasion, STEM Catalyst worked in partnership with Port Philip Eco-Centre and was extremely well prepared in planning the logistics, providing clear communications, site risk assessments, and all the necessary equipment.

The science activities on our Seashell Shoreline Survey and Waterbugs Survey excursions were both engaging and accessible to our participants. The STEM Catalyst team and partners were very knowledgeable, friendly, and generous in demonstrating the tasks, answering questions, and explaining things well to our group. Furthermore, they helped us to understand the importance of the scientific process as a way to better understand the human impact on the natural environment in urban locations. Great discussions followed on ways we can be more mindful of the environment in our everyday actions. We highly recommend STEM Catalyst for any group interested in a citizen science experience.
